When Emily first reached out to us to inquire about elopement photography for her outdoor ceremony in Columbia, we were instantly excited. Most of our weddings have a guest list of over 100, so being part of a very smaller group always feels so inclusive and intimate.
Emily and Garett chose Nifong Park as a venue to tie the knot. This local park seems to have it all! With rolling green hills, a small lake, and historic red barns dotting the property, every spot has a gorgeous backdrop for photos. After saying “I do” under the rustic wooden gazebo at sunset, everyone headed into the field below for champagne and cake. It truly was a perfect day, and these two were over the moon for each other. Here are some of our favorite photos from this elopement. Be sure to check out our client page next week for a link to the full gallery from this day!
Elopement Photography at Nifong Park
One of our favorite things about this elopement was the sweet little table that Emily set up for after the ceremony. I first met with Emily a few months ago to chat about details for her spring elopement. She mentioned that she loved the romantic table decorations at weddings. I wasn’t sure how this would work for her elopement, since they weren’t really having a dinner! When I arrived at Nifong Park for the first look between Emily and Garrett, I spotted the table she set up. It was beautiful! She used simple glass jars with corks to fill with candies as guest favors. A pink pom pom garland was strung around the table that held bottles of champagne for toasts.
These two had a petite cake (that apparently went through a bit of turmoil to make it to the table!). After a champagne toast to celebrate these newlyweds, Emily and Garrett cut the cake. Emily went for an impromptu cake smash, and we all learned just how much frosting Garrett’s beard can hold!
There were so many sweet and emotional moments from this day. One of my favorites was the way Emily held Garrett’s face in her hands immediately after the ceremony. Garrett looks so incredibly happy, and it was clear that these two were made for each other.
