Sienna and Ryan hosted their Brownstone Barn wedding in Topeka, KS earlier this month. This was our first time to this rustic wedding venue and it was gorgeous! Winter weddings have a kind of magic to them. Although we had planned for snow, we lucked out with temperatures in the 60’s!

More about this Brownstone Barn Wedding:

So, barn weddings are kind of our thing. We love the history behind these venues, and the laid back and cozy feel they have. When Sienna and Ryan told us about their venue, we were so excited to see it in person! Built in 1927, this was originally a dairy barn. Over the years it has changed hands and purposes, but for the last three years, it has served as a gorgeous wedding venue!

When tying the knot in a gorgeous historic barn like the Brownstone, you can let the venue shine and go easy on the decor. That said, we loved the simple gold and greenery details at this wedding. The family style tables were set up with sequin gold table runners and garlands of fresh greenery. Framed portraits of the couple and antique candles and lanterns added a personal touch.

Sienna and Ryan chose to do a first look and have their portraits done before the ceremony. We are seeing this trend more and more often. Most couples just want to celebrate after the ceremony, and having their pictures already done means they have time to spend some quiet time together after saying I do, or mingle with friends and family!

After cocktails and appetizers, guests were invited to a delicious buffet with tacos and all of the fixin’s! Catered by none other than Sienna’s father, Sean Durr, this taco feast was incredible. The evening ended with wild dancing, attempts at the worm, and lots of smiling.

Congratulations to Sienna and Ryan on a perfect winter wedding. We wish you all the best in your future adventures!
