While Max and I usually focus our documentary photography efforts on weddings… I like to take on a limited number of family portrait sessions  during the off-season just to stay busy and meet new folks! Taking casual walks outside, exploring the backyard and having a picnic are all great ways to get lovely candid family photos and take advantage of the gorgeous natural light outside! This family wanted a very vintage / Anthropologie look to their photos, so we toned them as such… and of course, I also love to photograph the daily activities in a family’s life that tell a more documentary story of who they are. Spending time shooting during snack time, reading books, and just playing around the house are where some of the best family photos are, in my opinion.  :)
